AIM IS KIND OF A BUTT: a public service announcement

So, lately AIM has been having some issues with chat and letting people stay online for longer than two seconds which is apparently due to issues with servers on their end. This is annoying as all get out, thus there has been made a backup on IRC.


IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CLIENT THAT SUPPORTS IRC:

- go to http://www.mibbit.com/
- click on the 'Launch Mibbit WebChat' light green button on the bottom of the left-hand column
- in the top little entry box, choose 'DarkMyst [webirc]' in the dropdown
- put in whatever name you want under 'Nick'
- put in '#taxontaxoff' under 'Channel'
- click 'Go' AND THERE YOU ARE


IF YOU USE PIDGIN:

- go to Accounts > Manage Accounts > Add
- login options should read as follows (password should stay blank):

Protocol: IRC
Username: YOURNAME
Server: irc.darkmyst.org

- click 'Save'
- go to Buddies > Join a Chat
- the dialogue box should read as follows (again, password should stay blank):

Account: YOURNAME@irc.darkmyst.org (IRC)
Channel: #taxontaxoff

- click 'Join' AND THERE YOU ARE


IF YOU USE TRILLIAN:

- go into 'Manage Connections'
- add one for IRC (the white bubble)
- there should be three lines to fill out - one should be whatever your trillian identity name is, and below that whatever nickname/display name you want, and then in the last one just put in "irc.darkmyst.org" and connect
- hit the little white bubble next to the orange aim bubble and go to "join a channel" and put in "#taxontaxoff"


Hopefully AIM will stop being a butt soon. In the meantime, have some Godga and Beysus being awesome.
