Throughout Taxon today, much remains the same. Tablets will only support voice functionality; the hatches shock people no matter how many credits they have; up above, the sky looks like it's been paused at high noon, leaving the city in a dead and stagnant heat; and the Extras are still bumbling about like chickens missing their empty heads.
Soon, though, between the heat and the mild chaos, there is a sound. A powering down, a loud THUMMVWOOM of something important shutting off that can be heard and felt in every room of every building in the city.
Oxygen production, filtering, and recycling has now failed.
Good luck, citizens.
