Yes. Due to telepathic shielding, all he was able to pick up was that the Master is crazy. Which he could probably have figured out anyway :P But the craziness combined with the torture has him in an uncharitable state of mind, and Lorne isn't sophisticated enough to quickly grok the idea that this Master could be from a different timeline and thus not really the same person.
