When she realizes the tablets won't work, Tara would want to do a location spell. I was thinking, so as not to steal Paul's thunder, Willow could be so powerful at this point it creates a bit of magical backlash and the spell fritzes, or it even causes Tara mild pain/temporary magic loss? I am up for discussing this.
ALTERNATELY if you decided to do it post zombies, I'm all for using Tara as a trigger - Willow mistakenly thinks she's hurt or dead, or something along those lines.
ALTERNATELY to the alternate, if it would be helpful to you, I am also fine with Willow finding out about Tara's upcoming death. The Buffycast clearly knows, as does DG, so we could discuss that. If she doesn't find out prior, it could come out in a Xander-speech, depending on how THAT goes.
