Hello darlings!

Remember how we've been hinting and nudging and whispering about a musical themed plot for August?

Well, it's August now, so why isn't Taxon full of people dancing in the streets, you ask? WE SHALL TELL YOU NOW.

Running from August 10-24, Taxon will once more (with feeling) be taken over by the dulcet tones of sweeping, bombastic, orchestrated...tunes, ranging from anything and everything you can imagine. Disney meets Duke Ellington meets Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers meets Stranger than Fiction.

How does it work?

Fairly simply, actually: first of all, you don't have to afflict your character(s) with the magic of musicals unless you want to. But, for the purposes of this city-wide plot, you'll have two options of musical madness:

* Full-on, character interactions morphing into actual musical numbers as easy as pie. Your character knows they're singing, knows it's really very weird to suddenly be starting up a song (and why is there ambient music all around accompanying them) - and the more s/he fights it, the more massive the inevitable outcome. What could've been a few lines from a song if s/he'd just gone with it ends up an elaborate piece with background dancers galore.

* If orchestrating song and dance routines isn't your cuppa, you can still partake in the fun by having your character followed around by Strangely Thematic Music Scores that change in accordance to what your character is up to. Merely fitting or truly epic, the choice is yours. Just make sure to insert links so we can all follow along, if you find some piece of already existing music that's just perfect for your nefarious rp purposes.

(* Do both! Do either! But most importantly: HAVE FUN WITH IT)

While the plot is completely opt-out-able, should you choose to submit your character to the in-game woes of being literally in the spotlight, the characters themselves can't opt out of the proceedings. They can try, but as detailed in the first bullet point, resistance is oh-so-futile.

Which should be really fun with Stark trying to get others to help him rebuild the tower, the pieces of it he needs.

Also, mostly because I was considering how Stark's current grring at Raziel would be hilarious in/with song, I so want to have conflict moments and emotions.

Dien, I can't stop thinking of Az and Jason having some fight over magic, her issues, whatever, but all in song. If you're throwing him in, that is.

Glitch is the only character left from the last time this happened, once he notices Thing Amiss he'll be putting up a post warning everyone. With song.

Also he is occasionally going to be followed around by his flutey theme music (9:30 if the link doesn't work) which is not technically his theme music but the soundtrack sucks with naming things.

ALSO GUYS I had this stupid notion of having an entire day get eaten by montages (warning: link goes to TV Tropes). Like: everyone's got a song that their day gets spliced into and suddenly it's evening and everyone's like "WTF was that?"

Yes, Bagoas will be like, one of the few Taxonites who are actually super excited about all the singing and dancing. He'll barely see anything wrong with suddenly feeling like following the ambient musical cues and dragging everyone along with him. XD

I will definitely AT THE LEAST inflict upon Gwen the background music that trails her throughout the day. (HEIST MUSIC WILL BE A MUST)

As for Arya? Jesus. You do NOT wanna hear this girl sing. She screams the words. When I picture her in a musical I picture her as one of the dirty orphan girls in Annie's "It's a Hard Knock Life." Some kind of rebellious solo ballad about wanting to kill a million people back home and how some douche cut off her father's head? Or about the bunch of identities she's had to take on, making it seem like she has none of her own (Who Is Arya Stark?)? IDK I need to brainstorm.

BAH IDK what I'm gonna do. I've never made up song lyrics either and I'm intensely worried that I just...won't be able to.

BUT OH SO EXCITED. I cannot wait to witness this.

(And I've always loved that song, though I've never seen the musical itself)


Oh! And Cain will be followed by ENNIO FRIGGIN' MORRICONE. No, not literally, but some definitely twangy Western~ themes. :D

Having done this before, Spike is going to be grumpy about it but he's totally in. Maddy will be in but, man, is that going to be a trip and embarassing for her, I imagine. Selina will be in, though I'm not sure if it will be soundtrack time or full blown songs.

There is no level of obnoxious sexual innuendo that could possibly express how totally in I am for this AMAZING PLOT.

LOOK THERE HE GOES THAT BOY IS SO PECULIAR, I WONDER IF HE'S FEELING WELL? Okay thinking OUTSIDE of Disney here, there's... honestly, character here is totally theatrical, though he may not LIKE it he lends himself very well to Broadway numbers. I would seriously have to narrow down shit he could sing about here, but... there's a lot, people are always singing about their desire to Transcend Their Boring Lives and/or about how they Don't Fit In With Other People and other Broadway plots.

Also up for any ensemble songs, duets, etc. <3
