MEME HO!

That's a nautical term, ftr, like LAND HO! (which, due to the involvement of land, doesn't really sound nautical - but it totally is) but if you wanted to interpret it as 'this meme is brought to you by Dele, who is also a ho', well, I'm sure I would have difficulty finding anyone around here to strenuously disagree on my behalf. Anyway, I love this shit so, this show: let us get it on the road.

WELCOME TO TAXON'S CR MEME!
  • Comment to this post listing your characters.
  • Other people will then reply to your comment requesting some epic TL;DR about how your characters feel about theirs.
  • Maybe talk about how you feel, OOCly, about the direction of their interaction or what makes this CR really powerful, tragic, or perhaps just straight up wildly lulzy.
  • Since we p. much always have new folks coming in, if your characters are so new they still need spanking, feel free to use this as an opportunity to ~*discuss potential*~.
  • It will be epic.

  • Christopher Walken believes in the beautiful, unvarnished truth. Don't disappoint him, bbs.

    River's date, Godric? :D

River → Godric (I almost typed Godga, jsyk)

Getting this out of the way: River is kind of unsettled that she can't read vampires at all. She's so used to voices and the gentle push of other people's consciousness on her own that to have that totally absent with the vampires of Taxon is weird and reminds her of the Extras. It's certainly nice to have the quiet, but it does tend to put her on edge more than at ease. With Godric, she is still weirded out, but the time with him and Dawn and the whole kidnapping thing eased the tension to the back of her mind. It's still there, and she's not entirely sure about him, but she also doesn't outright fear or avoid him. Even without being able to read his mind, his respect (without pity or condescension, which is awesome) is very apparent and manages to distract her from spending any time near him wigging out or feeling deeply unnerved.

There's also the fact that since she can't read his mind he presents a unique challenge, and River is nothing if not a totally prideful brat that thinks any challenge is there for her to leap over and then laugh manically. She can't cheat with him and know what he's thinking, so she has to actually communicate with him like a normal person. Or, as normal as she gets. And that's refreshing. She also doesn't have to worry about accidentally bringing up details of his tragic past in casual conversation. That's always awkward and tends to lead to things like yelling and pyres.

As for asking him to the dance, that was mostly because a) she wanted to ask someone where she wouldn't know their answer because that's ~exciting and b) she was pretty sure he'd be the only one to agree to take her out of an actual agreeable disposition to the prospect of her company instead of obligation or pity. River see's Godric as being equal to her in a lot of ways, and that comes with respect, and respect is abouuuut as close as she gets for now to processing affection or attraction. So, date. He's the most respected, acquainted, and safest candidate with few complications and the least incestuous vibes surrounding them going together. Which is to say, none, as opposed to the all of them if she asked Simon.

He should call her 'Admiral' after her whole hugest navy ever thing. River, ruler of all the seas and also a number of large lakes.

From now on, instead of calling her Little Telepath, he's going to call her Litten Amiral. :D
