I am assuming you're referring to Angus, as I don't think Bruce has any other cats since he doesn't strike me as a 'cat person', although "adorable" hasn't ever really been the foremost adjective used to describe him. "Huge" and "weirdly off-putting", maybe. But he is an attractive beast, I will give you that.
The best way to make friends with him is to give him respect, food, and tummy rubs, in that order. He pretends like he's got too much Cat Dignity to really enjoy tummy rubs, but he's faking. Generally when he's happy he'll flop onto his side or back, and that's when you can get him. It's like making a lion purr. Very satisfying.
