Hey guys! So sometime soon-ish, namely when I stop being lazy and write it up, Amy will be making a tablet post asking if anybody would be interested in putting together a sort of intramural sports team. If enough people join, then they can split into two or multiple teams to play all sorts of sports with each other.

I'm assuming the gym in the Sanctuary has balls, bats, whatever they need, and if not, they could just hatch equipment. For most things, they can play outside at a nondescript field or something, and I would think the Sanctuary gym has a basketball court, maybe a big pool? Would this be accurate, mods, or would there be a reason you guys wouldn't specifically want the Sanctuary to contain these places?

So anyway, since Amy is declaring herself the head of this little project, she'd contact people, maybe ask them to vote on what game they would want to play, get them to practice for a few weeks, then have a game.

This is where you guys come in. I wasn't sure if you'd prefer to do this sort of thing in the background like, "Oh yeah, Character A is a mechanic and in his free time he plays team sports," or if I should set up a free-for-all party post type of situation where those involved actually play a game and spectators come watch. I'm gonna say right now that, unlike Amy, I'm not much of a leader so I'm open to ideas on how to organize such a thing and if the winners should be picked beforehand and we play it out or what.

So basically what I'm saying is I have a nifty idea, and no idea about the proper way to execute it! HALP?

Don will not be participating be...cause the idea of playing sports with/against women makes him O_o BUT speaking as someone who's attempted to play out competitive stuff before (RPing poker: never a good idea), it might be easier and more rewarding to just work out how the game went/what went down with everyone involved and then play out everyone going out for post-game smoothies and talking shit to each other or something.

That is a really excellent idea! Like anyone could make a post going "What a great game that was! Wanna go out and celebrate?" and characters could tag in like, "Yeah those last fifteen minutes were brutal!" or "We'll beat you guys next time!"

Unless anyone else chimes in with a way to work out the actual playing of games, I think that's a great solution. Just keep everything rather vague, yeah? Thank you for chiming in! :D

HAHAAHA, you're welcome. I always fall into the trap of thinking "sports are really fun to play--they'll be great to RP as well!" but the logistics are just...impossible a lot of the time (or it's just plain boring). AND THEN I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT.

So it's my pleasure to spare you that. Although if you can think of a way to do it, more power to you.

This sounds hilarious and sadly I have neither ideas for implementation nor characters who would be likely to play. Paul hates organized sports with fiery passion and Long.... yeah, I can't even imagine him trying to play.

As I've said before (I think?), B'Elanna loves her competitive sports - if not necessarily team sports - and will definitely throw herself into this. DG is less of a fan, but will probably join in for the sake of spending time with friends.

Leela ... will probably join in, somewhat disastrously, when she learns the rules. Awesomesauce.

Cool cool. So far there hasn't been much interest though, so I'm guessing it could be more of a "in the background" thing. Like if you ever need a post for the month and just don't know what, you can have your character coming back from a basketball game or something. *shrugs*
