ANNOUNCEMENTS
→ It’s been a month since Taxon’s relaunch, and we’d like to thank all of you who have stayed with us, and those who have joined since! It’s been an exciting time and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

→ There is one major change we are announcing: as of this month, Taxon’s media policy restricting applications from anime, manga, and video game characters is being phased out.

→ The new activity requirements have been announced, and they are one open-to-all post a month for each character. This is a minimum requirement and you are of course welcome to post as often as you like. More details in the mod post here.

→ We’re adding a new area to the city! Wilde has its forest, Osten has its beach, and now Shelley is acquiring an agrarian region: fields, orchards, pastures (cows and sheep and emus, oh my), a market, and farmhouses. As with the rest of the city this region will have a random assortment of locations, so dry stack stone wall pastures will be found beside rice patties will be near a hydroponics greenhouse. A wiki page is forthcoming, so if you’ve got ideas for what to include in this area you can add them there!


AROUND THE CITY
→ Weather/atmosphere: The climate will remain matched with Canberra, Australia for this month, so while the calendar ticks further into autumn the weather will get...increasingly spring-like. The aliens will be correcting this oversight in a BIG way next month.

Despite the weather Taxon will be enveloped in beauteous autumnalness. Leaves will be changing, Halloween decorations will start springing up, and out in the farmlands there will be a good old fashioned country fair.

→ Freebies: For October, the shops and hatches will be providing free Halloween decorations, pumpkin pies, and apple cider. Also, any clothing that could be construed as a costume will be gratis, but citizens should be cautious in what they choose to dress up as. Details below!

→ Crime And Punishment: The aliens have decided that they need to provide some sort of law and order presence in the city, and so have provided a Sheriff to rein citizens in when they disturb the peace. How effective he'll be is...debatable.

That said, there will be some in-game consequences for the Killjoys’ firebombing last month, in that this month there will be no gasoline available in the city. Also, any alcohol that everyone’s favorite dust angels get within five feet of will turn into water.


Opposite Plot
This month’s main glitch will give everyone a chance to explore other aspects of their characters, namely what they would be like if aspects of their personalities or histories were inverted. Slackers will become ambitious, good guys will go bad, bad guys will go neutral, the choice is yours!

• This is an opt-in glitch, meaning that characters can be totally unaffected if the player wishes.

• The event will be lasting from the 9th to the 22nd, but characters do not have to be affected the entire time. It can be for a few hours, a few days, or the whole length of the event.

Outsides To Insides
A couple of years ago Taxon celebrated Halloween by having characters become their costumes, and now we’re doing it again! If your character dresses up as, say, a werewolf, at 8 PM on Halloween they will actually become a werewolf. The effects will last until sunrise on November 1, and as with the above glitch it is a totally optional event.

Previously: Puck has been pretty reserved since people started disappearing en-masse, which did lead him to that binge drinking where he made an ass of himself all over the city. He never was able to locate his guitar after that, but maybe someone can come across it 'cause he misses it. Then he was on site for the firebombing and even though he helpfully doused out an Extra or two, the whole thing shook him pretty bad (people on fire = BIG TRIGGER) so he's basically been hermitting since then. (Also because I am on hiatus, which worked out surprisingly well.)

Glitch Plans: Somehow I've managed NOT to get Puck glitched yet, so this has to change. I'm hoping to get him into both of the planned glitches this month so he can get a taste of them, although I'm probably going to be coming into the Opposites one about a week late :(

Other Plans: He really needs to establish some new CR that goes beyond snarking at people. ;~; I am open for any kind of plotting.

Hi!

Both my characters have a common ground with yours. Fire bad, people on fire = VERY BAD.

Unfortunately neither one of my characters respond well to snark (...one of them less than the other, on a good day). But! Cain was there at the fire bombing scene.

Maybe somehow we can work off of that common ground?

Previously: Greeted Helen, attended the luncheon thing at the birdhouse, threw a fit when Brennan was sent home, threw a fit when the Killjoys did something stupid, and...attempted to troll Dru, apparently. It seemed busier at the time. He's sort-of worked out the kinks with the rebraining and while he's not totally comfortable yet he's moved on to acceptance. Mostly.

Glitch Plans: I reeeeeally don't know what to do with opposite with him, I'm thinking of just keeping him "normal" and have him react to the chaos. Unless I think of something.

AS FOR COSTUMES: well, he kept the Emcee outfit from that onetime he was turned into said Emcee (no I have zero explanation for this other than lulz) but odds of him wearing it are minimal unless bribery is involved (BRIBE HIM). My other idea was Tippetarius aka Tip from the Oz books, and if you know the backstory you know where I'm going with that. Other suggestions are more than welcome!

Other Plans: Three out of three Ozians are marking anniversaries for being kidnapped to Taxon, I do not know if there will be an actual party but it'll be a Thing, probably. Other than that I don't have any solid plans, as ever. Talk at me!

Previously: ...oh this is where I was busy. Comforted Kaylee after River left, ditto Jenna with Elena, started trying to speak Killjoy, said hello to Elena when she re-appeared, talked hangover and guitars with Puck, went to the luncheon thing, arrived on the scene of the Killjoys' firebombing thing, may be offering them sanctuary (and music!), aaaand then found the first Extra to get Mick-nommed. Seriously wow.

Glitch Plans: The opposite of Fitz is clean-cut businessman, but I am also thinking of having him go more bitter and nasty than heroic in response to his shitty life. Will figure it out!

COSTUME: He will dress up as James Bond at every given opportunity so yeah.

Other Plans: None, but then I thought that last month. Babysitting Killjoys while he can, possibly hiring Elena, idk~

Previously: Oh, geez, what hasn't? Reunited with Kobra Kid, broke his nose due to odd codependency issues, stole Paul Smecker's iPod after defacing the Birdhouse (which now has a mural of Beethoven on it), creepin' on Gwen, nearly crashed into DG, threw molotov cocktails off of a roof to vent and get the attention of the aliens (which worked), triggered a few characters, broke his hand (thanks again, KK), wound up in jail, escaped jail, and is now currently trying to believe vampires really do exist. He's trying his hardest, really!

Glitch Plans: Party's normally a hot-headed, ready-for-action conspiracy theorist with a quick trigger finger and a passionate personality. The glitch is going to make him like he was in Battery City, which means pretty much a compliant, quiet zombie. He's probably going to dye his hair back to black, too, just because it sticks out too much...

COSTUMES: Halloween for Killjoys is like Christmas. Especially if Fun Ghoul's in your team, so I'm thinking he'll probably create something elaborate. I'm still completely not sure what... The default is Mousekat, AKA the mascot thing his rebeather (http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkytf3KzPV1qziesl.png) is based off of.

Other Plans: Party needs to do two things: trust more people and actually eat. He's leaning towards Gwen and Fitz, strangely enough, but it wouldn't help if some more people calmed the guy down. I definitely want to get his pirate radio station up, too!

Previously: Kobra's arrived in Taxon right after he witnessed his brother dying. Consequently the reunion with his brother ended with Kobra breaking Party's nose XD Proved that he is socially inept, went for drinks with DG, asked James a ton of questions, waved a gun around in Cain's face because he looks kind of like Korse. Oh and did some target practice with his brother ;)

Glitch Plans: Kobra is gonna turn into a guy so sweet and helpful your teeth ache. A social butterfly of the worst kind. He's very introverted and socially awkward at the moment, so I'll have him turn into a really extroverted, over-the-top happy guy who'll probably give people hugs in the street just because he feels like it.

Costume: This is probably going to be a last minute thing, courtesy of his brother, and might end up with Kobra turning into a cat.

Other Plans: Kobra really wants to find a bass guitar and a motorbike (not that it'll do him much good without gasoline). Get Fitz to play guitar. And meet more people! Even though he's awkward and gets worked up easily, he's a good guy once you see past that. Give the guy a hug haha

Previously: Cain has been busy. Between the meet-and-greet at the birdhouse, being accused of being someone he isn't (to the point of having a gun waved in his face courtesy of a certain Kid) to having all sorts of issues poked and prodded when Central was bombed with Molotov cocktails... Yeah. And now there's a vampire on the loose. GOOD GRIEF.

Glitch Plans: Cain will be Opposited, but I'm not entirely sure how yet. Either he'll go from Former Cop/Good Guy to Corrupt Policeman/Bad Guy...or something less stereotypical. Perhaps an aggressive, physically abusive bastard. WE SHALL SEE. >_>

Costume... I don't know. I can't really see him dressing up for Halloween, but I'm open to suggestions! :3

Other Plans: Right now I have no big plans, aside from Cain being in a complete and utter, downtrodden sort of headspace. Not only has it been a year since he came to Taxon, it's been a year since he lost his wife and son for the second time over. It's a bad month, and he'll need all the help he can get to work his way back out of the threatening depression.

Previously: Mick came to Taxon on the fourth of September. He was suspicious as all Hell, thinking it was an elaborate, Hollywood-esque set one second only to think he was going crazy the next, to thinking someone had kidnapped him to play nasty mind games with him. He got a few new acquaintances out of it, and I am still up for threading his intro post and wrapping the threads properly. Just let me know, and I'll get right to it. The same goes for his other threads, few though they are.

Over the course of the past month, Mick's bought himself a freezer chest and installed it into one of the bedrooms of his two bedroom apartment in Wilde, figured out hatches, set up an office in his living room and announced his services over the air.

And, oh, yeah... The hatched blood? Not working for him. He's been grasping at straws the past week or two, and finally caved in and started feeding on Extras. Which, as it turns out, does just as little to stave off more than hunger as the hatched blood. As a result of this, he's nearing the end of his rope. An IC post to that effect is coming right up. :3

Glitch Plans: Right now, I have no glitch plans for Mick. I might get ideas as the month goes by, but that's then and there.

Other Plans: Mick will be volunteering as guinea pig for Doctor Magnus's vampire cure experiments! :D

There will also be awkward on all sorts of levels, I suspect. That is all I have planned so far.

Previously: He arrived, confused as heck and a touch suspicious. Got checked on by Helen, talked with Kobra, and is right now talking WITH Kobra just about stuff in general. He's at the Old City Sanctuary with Helen right now, and is looking into the vampire stuff (which I didn't get around to a lot of at the moment, I got busy the last two days and I apologize).

Glitch Plans: I...don't know about this month. Opposite of James...would be an evil modern mastermind I do think...or an evil crazy less intelligent man...any ideas on that? I think mastermind would get him in trouble...and it COULD be fun. Anyone leaning more towards one way or the other?

Costume?...yeah lets not and say we did unless someone talks him into it (and by talking into it I mean twisting his arm so far backwards it pops out of it's socket). I am ALL for someone trying to though.

Other Plans: Meeting new folks totally is all I have planned right now, getting adjusted to Taxon too. If you want him chucked at you ask xD

Previously: ... Piper's spoken to Helen and the Sheriff recently. She's been talking to Paul, though that's more backtagging than anything, but hopefully she'll be more involved with the Birdhouse.

I'm just trying to get back into it with Piper, so that's why things have been a bit slow. I just need to find that thing that will kick-start her back here and have her tagging in and talkative again.

Glitch Plans: None at the moment. I want to get her rolling again before I decide to torment her.

Contradictory, but costume: I'm considering just making Piper dress up as a witch. In the show, she dressed up as Glinda. I'm thinking that here, she'll dress up as the stereotypical witch - conical hat, black, draggy dress, dark eye makeup, hot scraggly hair. Otherwise, she won't get involved, and I want her involved.

Even though she is a witch, I figure, she wants to keep it on the down low, so becoming her costume might not make people connect her with being an actual witch? I have no idea. I just would like for her to sort of embrace who she is, even if it's through a glitch.

Other Plans:

- Finding P3. I keep wanting to do this and I keep not doing it. I'm determined to do it this month if it fits.

- Plots. Birdhouse and the Mick plot. I want her more involved. She's going to get in there somehow. I just need to wake her up.

- Possibly connecting with the other fellow witches in Taxon. She needs to start embracing who she is rather than hating it, and I think that being with those girls might force her to sort of be like "Well, I've done this ..." and be sort of proud of who she is and what she's accomplished due to what she is. Pretty much, stop whining about how being a witch sucks, Piper.

Previously: Introed. Moved in with Jenna while keeping her vampire secret quiet. Elena came back, so Caroline felt like she had to move out as she felt like she was invading something rather private - since the house belongs to both Jenna and Elena - and she doesn't feel needed anymore. In Jenna's phone post, she declared she moved out, and met with Jenna to discuss her being a vampire, since Jenna already knows.

Glitch Plans: No personal glitches, just like Piper.

Costume: Going to be boring again and probably have her dress up like a vampire. Caroline's not too keen to expose it, considering she came in after the werewolves at home tortured her, her mother hates who she is, and people pretty much want vampires dead. So, letting her freak flag fly. I'm not sure if she'd want to attack people or go the full Dracula route, but I'm up for anything if anyone wants to do anything with that. Otherwise, I think she'll just be a vampire who likes to sniff people and be super creepy?

I'll probably change this when inspiration hits me in the head with a hammer.

Other Plans: Caroline's going to hopefully get involved with the Mick plot (I just have to tag things) and the Birdhouse.

I don't want her finding her place yet, but she's moved out, and I'll probably have her struggling with her desire to feed on helpless little Bambis while keeping it quiet.

For either girl, I don't have much planned. I'm slowly getting back into the way things move around here. I'm sorry for the slow tags and everything slow.

Glitch Plans: "Out of the Blue" Helen. She's an artist, drinks coffee, was married, no children and has a cat.

Halloween: Costume? Surprise :P And because it's seasonal, to welcome new people, get everyone to know each other better etc there'll be a (less formal than the Birdhouse one) 'greetsy thing' at the Sanctuary. And it's so not a party. Helen Magnus does not do parties. But an informal event to get to know people and a chance for the costumes to be on show? Why not. Anyone want?

Other Plans: She's going to be helping Mick with his vampire troubles, get to know everyone, push James out of his shell a little and keep working on the database.

Previously: She had heart felt bonding moments with Cain and Glitch, had discussions about magical morality with Long, went drinking with Kobra Kid and almost got ran over by Party Poison. And then she threw herself into the fray when the bombs went off, braving the flames and smoke in a typically headstrong and no-thought-for-her-own-safety sort of way in order to help the Extras.

Glitch Plans: Ooh, I’m still up in the air about DG. I have vague plans for the opposite plot – hello again, evil!DG … – and even vaguer plans for the Halloween. I was going to have her dress up as the original Dorothy, but the idea of leaving her unchanged and dealing with Emcee!Glitch is also appealing.

Other Plans: Well, I love the relationship she’s started to build with the Killjoys. I’d love to carry that on, with the added complications of the fall out from the explosions and the fact that one of her best friends is the S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W that they hate so much. And I want her to explore the farm land and get nostalgic about her fake robot parents that she actually rather misses. Maybe she could find one of the farms that really reminds her of Kansas and tinker with some of the older machinery – to the confusion of the Extras living and working there – to improve, just like she used to do. And she needs to find out exactly what transpired between Cain and Glitch while she was pause glitched.

Previously: When the city restarted, Drusilla was under the impression that Angel had left a long time ago. She still misses him greatly, of course, but the aliens helped her (and me, for the sake of my own sanity) skip the terrifying grief stage. She soon settled into her routine of teasing people in her own special crazy way and kept well out of the way of the explosions. When she finally emerged, it was to pick off dead and dying Extras and she was very disappointed to find out that they’d been cleaned up.

Glitch Plans: I’m not sure if I’m going to involve Drusilla in the Halloween glitch yet – she might remain herself and have fun with all the other transformed people – but she will definitely be participating in the opposite plot. She’ll be becoming the veritable saint that she would have been if Angelus hadn’t found her.

Other Plans: As usual, anything and everything. I know Sofie and I have already vaguely discussed Drusilla acting as the proverbial devil on Mick’s shoulder, encouraging him to kill as he fights his urges. She’ll just troll and cause trouble in every way she can. She also needs to find somewhere to live – I’m thinking of a nice cosy crypt of some sort – now that the Hyperion Hotel has vanished with Angel.

Previously: Quite a lot, actually. She’s the weakest of the three muses I have in the game, but she’s been having a real resurgence this month. It’s been great. She treated Extras that had been injured in the bomb blast and then treated Party Poison whether he actually wanted it or not. Then Fitz brought her the first recorded victim of Mick’s vampiric spree, which was swiftly followed by her finding another similarly injured Extra at the surgery the next day.

Glitch Plans: I can’t decide what to do for the opposite plot, although I have to say that evil Martha is an intriguing idea. And she may well end up being a Bond girl for Halloween. That is all Fitz’s fault.

Other Plans: More companioning and helping to deal with the Mick situation. More doctoring. More friendships and more conflicts. Basically, more everything.

Previously: ANGER. So much anger (that covers up sadness) that Stefan was sent back home. That anger made her give no fucks (less so than normally) and she was really bitchy to everyone, especially Jenna. Then Elena re-appeared to Taxon and she got even more annoyed. Generally, she's been trolling people and plotting mischief with Drusilla. She started to stir the pot re: Mick's vampire situation because she's very interested about the entire thing.

Glitch Plans: I don't really have any ideas. I wasn't really going to have Kat be affected by the Opposites glitch and I'm still unsure about the Halloween costume. Maybe she'll dress as a sexy devil or something, idk. I'm open to plotting, of course!

Other Plans: Nothing solid, more bitchiness and mischief as per usual. I've been really lazy with coming up with things for her. But definitely getting her nosey self involved with Mick's situation and enabling any vampire shenanigans with her friend Dru. At some point I'd love to have Katherine mess with someone with the nifty dreamwalking/manipulation that TVD vamps are capable of, but again I have nothing solid planned for that. I'm open to suggestions and plotting forever and always! 8D

Previously: She was super pissed to find out the whole people-get-possessions thing, particularly that she didn't get LISA, the military device that lets her touch people. AND THEN there was that whole deal with the bombings so she had to kind of set that shit aside and try to do the right thing.

Glitch Plans: I have no plans for Halloween really...Maybe dressing her up as a cat. As for the opposite glitch, I'll have to put a teensy bit more thought into it.

Other Plans: Getting herself involved in Mick's situation is a likely probability. More out of plain curiosity than fear or anything else. She's always been interested in other (no offense, Mick!) 'freak' people. I think she'll have to have a good conversation with Party about the crap that went down and the sheriff and whatnot. In the general sense, I'd like to have Gwen get back into the thieving thing, or breaking into something for some reason so if anyone has any ideas hit me up! ALSO MORE CR.

Previously: Oh gosh, well. He announced his Birdhouse as 'open' and ran the Meet & Greet thing which I personally think was a smashing success and hope people agree with me. ;)

He had his iPod stolen by Party. There will be fall-out from this, oh yes.

When the firebombing happened, he probably raced over to help clean up, but so far doesn't officially know it was Party and Kobra yet, I don't think. Lawd the fall-out when he does. More fall-out.

Other than that, um, Paul hasn't done a lot this month, mostly cuz I ended up doing lots of Sheriff tags.

He and Puck have-- well, I can't say made peace, exactly-- but they've definitely made progress and I am proud of them, lolz :P

Glitch Plans: I wasn't going to do Opposite Glitch for Paul at first, but inspiration just struck-- Paul will be turning, at least for a few days, into a laid-back stoner hippie type. Essentially the Big Lebowski. Duuude.

Costume-wise, I'm still debating. It's a little too cheap-shot to let him go in drag for Halloween, coff but I AM kinda cheap I'm still debating.

Other Plans: Hm, nothing set in stone for CR other than Paul discovering Party took his iPod and going thermonuclear. Oh, and Paul is going to donate some blood to Mick, probably. I'm up for anything else anybody wants though.

Previously: Okay, okay, so, I fail a lot, because this has been month a-zillion I've meant to have Long do things with the translation post, and the newbie guide. But as to what he actually DID do in Taxon-- greeted some peeps, mostly, and has been chit-chatting about magic and ignoring the fire and chaos.

Previously: She's been dealing with a lot of losses back in early September, but she didn't find out about all of them before she got pause-glitched. She'll come back to uh... a bit of a bombshell on that.

Glitch Plans: Not really sure what I'm going to do with her. I might iron out the details on the witch who's afraid of her powers and a meek little thing, but I'm not entirely sure. Also not sure about halloween things... Suggestions are welcome!

Other Plans: Don't really have plans right now other than letting her find out just how many of her friends have disappeared lately. Poor girl's going to be a bit shell-shocked and it might lead to her losing her temper again.

OH RIGHT: Witch meeting soon? I figure she might want to get that going again, kind of in memory of their lost friends, so any witchy (or warlocky) people who want to be involved, feel free to reply here / plot :3

Previously: She's been pretty good recently since Elena just got back! Katherine's been leaving her little tiny threats that she's all wary about now, but other than that, Jenna's life has been pretty good. She's just working things out with Elena and Caroline re: what she knows and who's living where.

Glitch Plans: Probably going to have her go all responsibility for this glitch XD Because it'll be amusing to see her actually be the most responsible parent who won't take no for an answer... since she's really bad about pushing for answers / discipline... >>; Again, not sure about halloween things. Previously: Still getting over River leaving, helping Party with his radio-ness, and otherwise hiding out at the Ranch because lol my activity what is it.

Other Plans: Getting back into the swing of things, making new friends, hanging out with old friends. She'll probably go back to work on her drill at some point--been a while since she's touched it. Otherwise, it's Cheryle trying to regain her RP legs.
