Dearly beloved, we’ve gathered heeeere to say our good-byyyyyyyyes...
First off, we’d like to thank everyone for your input as it was invaluable, and since the response was nice and clear we are now pleased to announce that TAXON IS MOVING TO DREAMWIDTH! Whew, exhilarating and yet scary, right? Not to worry, we’ve got the groundwork laid out and will do everything we can to make this as smooth and stress-free as possible. We’ve got the comms set up (and imported!) already, so there’s just a few things you need to do now:
First: if you have not done so already, make journals for your characters (and, if you like, yourselves) on Dreamwidth. Presently there are no invite codes required to make accounts on DW so it’s easy as pie. Also note that you very much do NOT need to keep the same journal name as the one on LJ, so if you find your dream account name is available then go for it and congrats!
Once you do that, copy the form below and comment to this post with your info so we can edit our lists and send invites to the communities.
If you like, you can import your journal from LJ to DW, preserving tags, profiles, security levels, friends groups, and - if you have 15 or fewer - icons as well. Instructions for importing can be found here. PLEASE NOTE that you are more than welcome to continue backtagging threads on LJ, but any new posts beginning Sunday, 15 January will be made on Dreamwidth. After that we’ll do periodic imports from LJ for a few months (we know how slow our slowtags can be) to make sure we catch everything.
Once the move happens, we’re going to toss in a little gameplot-related flavor to give our characters something to react to. Speaking of things to react to: there’s going to be a message from the folks upstairs, checking in on how everyone’s doing. Enjoy that.
Lastly, since there are a large number of games who have made the leap before us there are a LOT of resources available related to getting settled in on DW. This particular list is borrowed from Drama Drama Duck, as poking through their post on moving has been helpful in assembling ours.

...that’s a lot of stuff! We’ll have a top comment for questions, but other than that? Answer the form and gif away, darlings, gif away!

QUESTIONS
If you want icons in your old threads that have been imported to Dreamwidth, log into your OpenID account over on Dreamwidth and upload 15 icons with the same keywords they have here.
If you have more than 15 here, I'd suggest making the default a fairly neutral one that could work for a variety of situations/expressions and choosing favorites/frequently used for the other 14. Also, if you designate multiple keywords (the keywords for a few similar icons over here on LJ), I believe you can, for instance, get a single smiling icon over there to fill in for a couple different smiling icons over here.
How to do this
Log out of Dreamwidth, log into Livejournal with your character journal, and go to: http://www.dreamwidth.org/openid/ . Once you're there, type in "username.livejournal.com", give LJ permission to log that account in on Dreamwidth, set an email, and upload your icons just like you would for a normal journal.
This way our old threads can be pretty on the new site too! I know we all love our icons, and I for one really enjoy rereading old threads. Obviously it is up to every individual whether or not to upload icons just for past threads, but for those of you who dislike seeing your old threads without them over there, this is an option!
