Hello all, and welcome to the official plotting post for The Big Mess With The Dinosaurs And Also Bodyswapping. Because the hamsters don't do nothin' halfway. The spooky carnival is underway for all your harmless fun needs, but this weekend things will start getting creepy.

October 27th will bring a persistent fog into town. We're talking pea soup, Gothic novel, can't see-you-hand-in-front-of-your-face fog, and it will encroach gradually, thickening and fading at random. This fog is easy to get lost in, and citizens may emerge from it halfway across town from where they entered.

There are voices in the fog, distant and indistinct, but occasionally one might sound familiar to a character. Was that the sound of a friend in distress, or the whisper of a lost loved one? Hard to say, but be careful investigating.

On October 31st there will be a strong storm in the evening, which much moaning wind and fierce lightning. One lightning bolt will strike the carnival's Tesla coil which will zap the so-called dinosaur eggs, causing them to hatch and...well, let's say they'll get through a lot of growing up overnight.

November 1st brings a change to the city: much of the architecture will be overgrown with jungle plants and vines, and there will be tree houses up in the canopy. A perfect environment for prehistoric beasties to lurk in, and for confused citizens to try and navigate while in possession of fun new bodies.

Why bodyswap, you ask? Why not?, the aliens answer.

We haven't set an end date yet, but one can expect the city and its citizens to be back to "normal" by November 10th.

PLOTTING STUFF:
The thing which requires the biggest planning is the bodyswap, which is both complicated and straightforward. How this will work is:

1. Comment below if you'd like to participate.
2. Note if you'd like to swap with someone specific, or if you want to random that up. Swapping does not need to be one to one (character A becomes character B and B becomes A), it can also be character A becomes character Q who is stuck in character J who may or may not be A.
3. We'll finalize a list of who is going to be swapped with who on Monday the 29th. At that time you can either make a Dreamwidth account for your bodyswapped character or snag a few icons and add them to your character's account.
4. Yes there will be a thread below for asking questions about all this.

Also below will be a thread for hashing out all our dinosaur needs and to generally ask us if we've lost our minds. Happy plotting, Taxon!

What it says on the tin. We're going the Freaky Friday route so it'll be your character's consciouness in another character's body, so when you sign up it'd be helpful to list any pros, cons, superpowers, and general quirks that go with a given character's physical being.

Yes we're counting superpowers as physical traits for purposes of hijinks.

I was thinking Jason could be entertaining but I'm open to who ever. Maddy is a powerful telepath and telekinetic and, well, that can be a lot of wacky mischief for those who are interested or you could go crazy. You know, whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, Bagoas is going to have the weirdest but most amazing time OF HIS ENTIRE LIFE and end up searching the city for new and exciting weirdness. Pumpkin pie, cotton candy, carnival rides, the whole shebang. Also the tesla coil is pure, utter magic (no Glitch he won't care if you can explain all the scientific facts, it's magic, simply because it is) in his rather humble opinion.

Come dino time, he's too perfect a non-stereotypical damsel in distress to have him (or me) deal with a bodyswapping, which is part of why I'm opting him out of that bit of fun. The other part is he'll have enough of a difficult time when almost everybody else is suddenly all in on the same joke. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GLITCH I AM NOT FINDING THIS AT ALL AMUSING STOP IT AT ONCE

So. Dinosaurs. There'll be a lot of dodging, a lot of hiding and a lot of running. Also possibly some shrieking and...well...

Basically he's screwed. Or dino dinner. >_>
