Plotting Post!
Hello all, and welcome to the official plotting post for The Big Mess With The Dinosaurs And Also Bodyswapping. Because the hamsters don't do nothin' halfway. The spooky carnival is underway for all your harmless fun needs, but this weekend things will start getting creepy.
October 27th will bring a persistent fog into town. We're talking pea soup, Gothic novel, can't see-you-hand-in-front-of-your-face fog, and it will encroach gradually, thickening and fading at random. This fog is easy to get lost in, and citizens may emerge from it halfway across town from where they entered.
There are voices in the fog, distant and indistinct, but occasionally one might sound familiar to a character. Was that the sound of a friend in distress, or the whisper of a lost loved one? Hard to say, but be careful investigating.
On October 31st there will be a strong storm in the evening, which much moaning wind and fierce lightning. One lightning bolt will strike the carnival's Tesla coil which will zap the so-called dinosaur eggs, causing them to hatch and...well, let's say they'll get through a lot of growing up overnight.
November 1st brings a change to the city: much of the architecture will be overgrown with jungle plants and vines, and there will be tree houses up in the canopy. A perfect environment for prehistoric beasties to lurk in, and for confused citizens to try and navigate while in possession of fun new bodies.
Why bodyswap, you ask? Why not?, the aliens answer.
We haven't set an end date yet, but one can expect the city and its citizens to be back to "normal" by November 10th.
PLOTTING STUFF:
The thing which requires the biggest planning is the bodyswap, which is both complicated and straightforward. How this will work is:

1. Comment below if you'd like to participate.Also below will be a thread for hashing out all our dinosaur needs and to generally ask us if we've lost our minds. Happy plotting, Taxon!
2. Note if you'd like to swap with someone specific, or if you want to random that up. Swapping does not need to be one to one (character A becomes character B and B becomes A), it can also be character A becomes character Q who is stuck in character J who may or may not be A.
3. We'll finalize a list of who is going to be swapped with who on Monday the 29th. At that time you can either make a Dreamwidth account for your bodyswapped character or snag a few icons and add them to your character's account.

Here have a headcase since yes, despite possessing a functioning whole brain-like thing because aliens...Glitch is still all headcased-up. One thing which will become VERY evident to anyone who gets his body is that all their memories from before arriving in Taxon will either be nonexistent or very, very spliced and faint. It won't be amnesia, they'll have their identities and they'll know facts about themselves, but remembering the hows and whys of their lives will be tricky or downright impossible. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE IS SAFE FROM THIS, BIOGRAPHICAL KNOWLEDGE WILL GO BYE-BYE.
Things of note:
- There's a zipper on his head. Do not open it, you will not want to.
- His right shoulder's arthritic, it's worse in the mornings and after strenuous activity.
- If a character didn't have a hair-trigger fight or flight reflex before, they do now.
- If a character didn't know
kung futaekwondo before, they do now. Go roundhouse kick a velociraptor, it's fun.- Injuring him is actually okay! Talk to me about deets but lol when am I not down for that?
