Petra and Doul met under some slightly fucked up circumstances - some extremely fucked up circumstances, actually - and seem to have forged a quiet, steady bond out of that shared experience. Petra trusts him a lot more than she trusts most people in Taxon, and moreover she also trusts his judgement. He is somebody that she's comfortable reaching out to as much if she needs a platonic escort as if she needs, say, a big strong guy to come down with a huge knife and threaten someone on her behalf. And she will call on him for both of these things!

She enjoys that he sends her flowers and has been putting them in both her study and her studio.
