holy overhauls and changes, batmans!
The summer of change just keeps on rolling!
FIRST, we'd like to announce a few changes to our application process!
SECOND, we've also got some changes regarding hiatuses!
THIRD, we're thinking of making an even bigger change! Taxon is known for it's medium policy that excludes anime, manga, and video game characters. However, as we continue into our third year of alien shenanigans we feel that this rule, like the Twilight rule of days gone by, needs to be put to rest.
Before we change that, we'd like to know from you first: how do you feel about the idea of us accepting applications from anime/manga/video game characters?
All of that said, dear Taxon, we love you dearly and hope you're doing well in these end days of summer. Don't forget that we have a Game HMD this Friday where we'll cover issues regarding the upcoming metaplot and future glitch polls, as well as any other subject you feel needs to be addressed.
FIRST, we'd like to announce a few changes to our application process!
→ You no longer have to write a full history section! From now on, as long as a comprehensive canon and character history is available online (at a wiki or fan site), you can just provide a link. We hope this makes applications less daunting for our players to write, and help speed up our ability to process them on our end.
→ Our wait rule is being shortened! From now on, you can app any character from any canon that has been available for at least one month, and from points in ongoing canon that have been available for at least one week.
→ To reflect these changes, and coincide with our re-writing of other areas of the game, we've given the application page an overhaul!
SECOND, we've also got some changes regarding hiatuses!
→ PAUSE GLITCHES ARE CHANGING! From now on, rather than a pause glitch resulting in no one being able to notice a character's absence, the process is entirely noticeable. You can even have characters see each other get 'paused,' which involves them suddenly fading out of sight and vanishing in thin air.
→ Additionally, characters that were previously pause glitched will now remember bits and pieces of their time away from the city. Main features of these memories will be dark rooms, extensive interviewing, and other vague allusions to a more confined kind of captivity. If you've ever pause glitched your character before, feel free to start having them remember whenever you want if you'd like to participate.
→ After today, characters that will be on hiatus for longer than a week will be pause glitched. Please be sure to communicate these longer hiatuses with your castmates and close CR before they happen, and we hope this will help everyone out by giving them more to work with even when others are away.
NOTE: This does not apply to slowatuses or any hiatus shorter than a week.

I'm not really sure that just opening the game up to more mediums is necessarily the solution, nor do I think it's necessarily a bad thing either. I think there's some really good anime/games out there, but, like anything else, there's a lot of crap anime/games out there too and I would just advise the mod cast to be extra-vigilant when looking through apps for these characters, to make sure there is character development meat and thought there.
But I still think that the ruts that are in-game need to be addressed in a way that is not just 'filling them with the sand of new mediums'.
My two cents *shrugs*

I know the ruts ain't getting fixed just by bringing in some new media, bb, and I'm planning on laying down tarmac ♥
