SYSTEM FAILURE IMMINENT: PLOTTING TIME

Some of you may have heard that there's a SYSTEM FAILURE coming up. We heard that, too. This is why you get a super special post all about it!

Up above somewhere in the Alien HQ, there's going to be a little oopsie-daisy, which is going to lead to a whole mess of trouble. Different things will go down on different days (and we have a bare-bones schedule for you under the cut) with the malfunctions getting more and more serious as time goes on. Each day, from June 25 to July 03, we'll be putting up a post in the IC community detailing exactly what's going on for that day and just how the malfunctions and shut downs are effecting the city. Remember: once this starts, any glitched character will be stuck in their glitch for the duration.

And then, on the seventh day, God rested everyone will be able to escape. The barriers will go down and reveal a network of tunnels leading somewhere we'll tell you about later but we assure you is full of death and destruction. (Side note: if you'd rather not play through the finding of death and destruction, characters are totally allowed to stay put in the city and continue dealing with stuff up there. If you want to not participate in this plot entirely, we totally understand and pause glitches are definitely available for you.) When it gets closer to the time for all that to go down, we'll put up a post with more information.

Finally, on the ninth day, the Aliens will begin repairs. Again, we'll post the details on that closer to when it actually happens.

Day 03 (June 27)

  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: sky remains at noon and temperatures hover at around 90-100 degrees with no wind
  • Extras malfunction: begin to behave oddly, group together, and continue to not perform their tasks properly.
  • life support shuts down


Day 04 (June 28)
  • tablets can only broadcast in [voice]
  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: sun remains at noon, but there is now warm rain and wind and clouds blocking most of the fake-sun's light
  • Extras malfunction: begin to behave oddly, group together, and continue to not perform their tasks properly.
  • life support remains offline
  • building program malfunctions: unoccupied buildings will look fine one moment and then damaged the next


Day 05 (June 29)
  • tablets can only broadcast in [voice]
  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: there is rain and wind, temperatures drop dramatically
  • Extras malfunction: begin to behave oddly, group together, continue to not their tasks properly, and begin disappearing
  • life support remains offline
  • building program malfunctions: unoccupied buildings will look fine one moment and then damaged the next
  • sky illusion goes offline: no more sun, and cave walls can be seen through the clouds


Day 06 (June 30)
  • tablets can only broadcast in [voice]
  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: there is rain and wind, temperatures remain low
  • Extras malfunction: begin to behave oddly, group together, continue to not their tasks properly, and continue disappearing
  • life support remains offline
  • building program malfunctions: unoccupied buildings will look fine one moment and then damaged the next, some begin to disappear completely
  • sky illusion remains offline: no more sun, and cave walls can be seen through the clouds
  • barriers malfunction: becomes permeable above the city, pushing in nasty smelling air for characters to breathe


Day 07 (July 01)
  • tablets can only broadcast in [voice]
  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: rain leads to flooding, wind gets worse, lightning strikes at random
  • Extras malfunction: begin to behave oddly, group together, continue to not their tasks properly, and continue disappearing
  • life support remains offline
  • building program malfunctions: unoccupied and occupied buildings will look fine one moment and then damaged the next, some will disappear completely
  • sky illusion remains offline: no more sun, and cave walls can be seen through the clouds
  • barriers malfunction: they are down completely, pushing in nasty smelling air for characters to breathe and allowing them to leave the city
  • tunnels in the cave are accessible


Day 08 (July 02)
  • tablets can only broadcast in [voice]
  • economy malfunctions, everyone receives debt shocks
  • weather systems fail: rain leads to flooding, wind gets worse and some small tornadoes form, lightning strikes at random, temperatures continue to drop providing hail and snow in some parts of the city
  • Extras malfunction: there are none left in the city at all
  • life support remains offline
  • building program malfunctions: unoccupied and occupied buildings will look fine one moment and then damaged the next, some will disappear completely
  • sky illusion remains offline: no more sun, and cave walls can be seen through the clouds
  • barriers malfunction: they are down completely, pushing in nasty smelling air for characters to breathe and allowing them to leave the city
