Hello people, we've got a few updates for you!
1- Glitch procedure. As we've now had quite a few AWESOME glitches, we just want to make sure they keep being awesome, so we're asking that you run all glitch ideas past a mod before going ahead- just ping either Lauren or Jane on AIM and you'll have our full attention. Details on this rule change can be found in the
FAQ, where we've amended the 'glitch' section, so please take a look at that.
2- The
Locations Directory is now up and fully functional on the mod journal! So if you're looking for a place for your character to chill/curious as to the locations people have brought with them, you now have a comprehensive guide! If there's anyone who hasn't yet filled out the form on that OOC post and has an unregistered location, just reply directly to the new ofishul post and we'll add it to the list for you.
3- Canon crossover. Okay, so, as we all know, there are certain canons that
could feasibly crossover with each other fairly well- similar genre, technology, universes etc. etc. HOWEVER, we've decided that because this can often lead to complications (say two characters from different fandoms decide to have knowledge from eachothers' respective canons, but another character from one of the fandoms doesn't want to play the crossover? ...Which then leads to drama and flailing and ohnoes and the Dark Side?) we are going to say
no to crossover knowledge between different fandoms, sorry. Seperate universes are to be treated as such.
In that general vein, characters should
never refer to others as fictional, (i.e no OMG I LOVE SUPERMAN AND YOU'RE CLARK KENT OMG), all IC knowledge of another character's canon disappears when that other character arrives at Taxon. This is partly because A) a lot of people really don't like being fourth walled, and to prevent mass identity crises, and B) Taxon is a place
built on fictions. All these characters are fictional, the aliens are reconstructing a population from fictional characters- this is 2000 years in the future, the Earth has been destroyed. Therefore, the aliens would
deliberately remove this knowledge to prevent everyone from working out what's going on.
If you have questions/concerns/confusion on any/all of the above, please feel free to address them here and we will endeavor to clarify for you.
:D
