Hey everyone, this is your friendly 'cross the pond-and-possibly-a-continent modly person Sofo.

Just thought it would be a good idea with the AC rolling around to remind you all that, if you know you're going on a slowatus/hiatus, especially an extended one (however unexpectedly), to pleasepleaseplease let us know about it. "RL happens" being one of our mottos, we're more than happy to work around ic absences if pause glitching isn't a satisfying option.

You may ask yourself: So, how do I do this thing?

Easy! Just drop a note here, and all three of us will get a handy notif in our inbox. We keep very irregular hours between the three of us, and only one of us is on plurk, so this is a handy catch-all place to get in contact with us re: absence and such. Plus there's less risk of a note on there getting lost among other stuff, like on the ooc comm.

In so many words: Please to be letting us know when you're gone. :DDDD

Hello Taxon, and welcome to your new form of activity check! As per the changes we discussed last time, the new activity requirements are:

-One (1) open post made by your character, able to be tagged into by other characters;
and
-A total of 30 tags/comments by your character in various posts. Event log posts, your own post, other people's posts-- it's all good.

The cycle on which we are judging this is every two months. So, we're looking at March and April here for requirements!

What You Do Now:

Leave a comment linking us to your a) Post! and b) the posts you participated in! You will find that personal tag of yours that we keep harping on very useful in locating these. On that note, Remember to Tag Your Posts!

Please comment by Friday, March 11. This is how we are currently judging activity. If you do not respond to this post with links to your activity, we will not check through the posts for you, but will instead treat your character as not having made AC for the last two months.

Characters/players who have notified us of hiatus or slowatus and who are thus exempt from this AC:
-Kat, with Party Poison
-Sage, with Beth Turner
-Malia, with Riza Hawkeye

Additionally, characters who have arrived to the city in the month of April are exempt due to Newbie Grace, although you may still fill out the activity check if you wish. Additionally-additionally, if we missed your hiatus or if you're a few comments short, get in touch with us and we'll work with you.

Any questions? Comments? Suggestions? This is our first time running AC this way, and it's very much an experiment in progress.

I've been sitting on this for a while, but Willow's voice has been going in and out on me for months. I haven't felt truly confident with her in a long time. So, I think it's about time to let her go on back home. If I can manage it, I'll canon review a bit over the summer and see if that will wake her up. If so, I'll bring her right on back :3 and if not, that's how things go, right?

So sorry to my castmates and amazing CR. You guys made having her here such a blast. ♥

I'm still sticking around Taxon with Jenna and Ashley, so you're not rid of me yet :) Just the redhead witch is going home for some R&R for now.

This is Cody. With an update.

I'm Home. My cast is off. Feeling Relaxed, Refreshed, and Alive.

I am dropping a lot of my old old tags just because I can not get into the mind set and they are keeping me held back. If anyone would like to make some assumptions on what happened let me know. I'm sorry about all this.

Hello, Taxon!

The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things: Of SOTTS-- and kids-- and month-long plots-- and sherrif-es-- and springs!

So, in that order:

   • SOTT: After consideration and discussion we've decided to drop having a regular, monthly SOTT. We'll still have plenty of posts for CR memes to help get interaction plots rolling among players, and we'll still do HMDs/HTDs. We're just doing away with the rigid monthly SOTT format, and we'll see how that works out in practice. If you have opinions on this, let us know!

   • Kids: Taxon has long had a policy of no characters under 16. We are provisionally lifting it; the age ban is gone. BRING OUT YER DEAD! I mean, your more youthful characters! However, please note that we will be looking over applications of under-16 characters with an especially fine-toothed comb-- your mods don't want Taxon to turn into a daycare RP. Approval will be on a case-by-case basis and the application will really have to shine.

Opinions on this are welcomed as well.

   • Plots: After taking into account your collective feedback from the last HMD on glitch-plots, the consensus we're hearing seems to be that you guys would actually like MORE time to resolve city-wide plots and events. This surprised us, but also pleases us! We will take it into account going forward, and your summer will accordingly feature possible tropical and/or dinosaur shenanigans. Glitch suggestions are always welcomed!

   • The Sheriff: Okay, so, opinion poll time, guys. As envisioned by Dien, the Sheriff is meant to be a level of insurance from the aliens to keep citizens from randomly destroying/hurting the Extras and/or the city itself (and from stealing from the city's stores, thus forcing them to participate in the city's job economy). Additionally, he would be a resource in case of characters not being able to organize effectively against their own glitches, although the preference would be to let the citizens handle things thesmselves.

However, for the Sheriff to fill out this role in Taxon, it means there's another step in the way of plot, in a sense. If your character is doing things that the Sheriff would respond to, it means you have to notify a mod and the Sheriff then steps in, which, especially because Dien is a slow tagger at the best of times, can mean bogging down plots and getting in the way of fun for fun's sake.

So. I bring this to you, Taxon. Would you prefer the aliens have a 'Sheriff' or something similar in place, or would you prefer a more lawless Taxon where characters can steal, assault Extras, and/or damage property without any direct repercussions from the aliens themselves? (Note that characters may still take it on themselves to interfere with each other, of course.)

There's a sub-thread down below where you should give your opinion! Operators are standing by waiting for your call.

   • Springs, last but not least: Okay, it's May so it is technically still spring. Shut up, I needed it for the rhyme. In short, it's time for Taxon's weather to change again-- so get thee to the subthread below and start suggesting cities/locations on Earth to model Taxon's weather after. When you see one you like, COMMENT on it with a +1 or a thumbs up or whatever your encouraging statement of choice is-- this is a poll, effectively, so you have to vote for us to know your thoughts!

Last but not least, any general comments/suggestions/feedback/ice cream is, as always, really, really welcome. Love you all!
